The Montessori School of Raleigh is committed to providing admission to qualified students regardless of their financial situation and to maintaining a student body that reflects the diverse cultures and socio-economic backgrounds within our community. As a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), we award financial aid on the basis of demonstrated family financial need.
Families are required to reapply for aid each year; however, The Montessori School of Raleigh is committed to supporting a student through their life at MSR as long as there is demonstrated family financial need. Financial aid applications are made directly through Tuition Aid Data Services (TADS). TADS collects basic financial information on income, assets and liabilities, family size, siblings in tuition-based schools, and any special circumstances. Members of The Montessori School of Raleigh Financial Aid Committee review this confidential information to determine a family’s eligibility for assistance. Students and families receiving assistance are also expected to respect the confidentiality of this information.
All current MSR families and new families applying for tuition assistance for the 2017-18 school year must complete the tuition assistance application by December 31, 2016. New student’s families should complete and submit admissions and financial aid applications at the same time.
Tuition assistance applications will be accepted beginning October 1, 2016, and must be submitted to TADS on their secure website: www.tads.com, by January 19, 2017. Additionally, TADS provides a worksheet for families that is available via the link below. As a part of the tuition assistance application process, you will be required to provide a copy of your tax records including all W-2’s, 1099’s, and all other supporting tax documentation to TADS.
If the application for tuition assistance is completed by the deadline, every effort will be made for aid awards notification to be included with enrollment offers to returning students in February, and to new students in March. If an aid award is granted and accepted, 2016 tax documents must be submitted to TADS on or before June 31, 2017. The Montessori School of Raleigh reserves the right to review the tax documentation and modify the tuition assistance award accordingly. If the tax documents are not submitted by June 31, 2017, the tuition assistance award will be forfeited and voided.
