MSR takes the Ice Bucket Challenge

UPDATED: It seemed like a great idea until that ice cold water hit our heads… but MSR never backs down from a challenge, so we proudly doused ourselves in the name of a good cause. It is a craze of sorts, a social media flash mob passed along through a challenge and the MSR Admin Team kicked it off with an ice water bath on Friday, August 15. The Admin Team challenged the Interdisciplinary Team, they called out The Agility Lab, they nominated the Toddler Team who challenged The Upper Elementary Team and they passed it on to the Middle School Team who nominated the 9th years! The 9th years took a dip in the lake on their team building trip to Chewonki, Maine. The 9th years challenged folks outside of MSR, so it looks like we are in the dry for now. The ALS #icebucketchallenge has raised more than awareness for The ALS Association. As of Monday, August 18, they have received $15.6 million in donations compared to $1.8 million during the same time period last year (July 29 to August 18). Learn more at
