Athletics

Participating in sports at MSR can play a major role in the whole development of the child. Through sports, students develop self-discipline, self-worth and personal accountability. Each student builds character and sportsmanship while balancing academic requirements.

The Montessori School of Raleigh currently fields boys and girls soccer teams, boys and girls basketball teams, a cross country team, a co-ed golf team and two girls volleyball teams.

Miners Golf Tournament Information

Dear Parents,
On September 20, 2010, MSR will be holding our 2nd Annual Miners Golf Tournament presented by the Factory at Lonnie Poole Golf Course starting at 8:00 a.m. The purpose of this tournament is to expand the Miners’ athletic program by funding and complimenting school resources for our student’s Health and Wellness endeavors.

I am respectfully requesting your participation in the 2nd Annual Miners Golf Tournament whether it is through sponsorship, donating to the raffle, volunteering or participating in the tournament. As a sponsor or donor to the 2010 Miners Golf Tournament you will have an opportunity to be part of some new marketing opportunities for your business, organization and family. One of these opportunities will be a Miners Athletic Schedule Poster. Those who donate $500 or more to the event will have their names on the posters, on a banner at all home events and on the Miners athletic website as a donor to Miners Athletics. Please note the following deadlines in order to get your name or logo on tournament printed materials.

The player registration fee for the event is $100, which includes breakfast, brunch, lunch, beverages, cart fees, range balls and green fees. Player registration forms are available via e-mail and the athletics page of the MSR website. Please have your player registration in by Sept. 9, for our numbers to be submitted to Lonnie Poole as well as our food count. Breakfast will be donated by Chick-fil-A with Jimmy John’s providing brunch snacks. Lunch will be provided to all players and volunteers. We will have a wide variety of Hole-In-One prizes as well as an array of events on display after the tournament featuring a Wii Hole-In-One contest provided by Best Buy. Be on the look out for the Miners Golf Tournament Raffle in the Watson Center starting one week prior to Sept. 20.

I would love for you to be a part of the tournament in whatever role you are willing to take at the event, as it will be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or seek more information please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

David A. Gehring

The Montessori School of Raleigh has partnered with Foxwood Sports out of Fayetteville, AR to provide full color sports schedule posters and schedule cards for the 2010-2011 school year. Foxwood Sports is the official poster company of the North Carolina Athletic Directors Association and provides scholarship money to the state each year. They are the ONLY company authorized by our school to provide schedule posters and schedule pocket cards. This is an opportunity to promote your business within our community and a portion of your ad purchase will go to benefit the student athletes at The Montessori School of Raleigh.

Thank you for your continued support.
