These camps are for Children’s House 5 & 6 year olds that are Rising Extended Day or current Extended Day students.

Week 1: June 12-16

Bugs, Bugs, Bugs (9am – 1pm)
If critters with six legs seem interesting to you, then come along and explore the fascinating world of the greatest population on the planet… BUGS. Come dressed to explore. Learn about bugs through crafts, books, and exploration.

Eric Carle Camp (9am – 1pm)
Celebrate Eric Carle, one of the greatest children’s authors of our time! Take a literary journey through Eric Carle’s famous tales where the stories will provide opportunities for each child to express themselves through hands-on arts and crafts activities.

Butterflies and Birds (1pm – 4pm)
If they are cute and sweet and pretty and fly, then you will learn about them in this camp. Ms. Beth will explore the world of butterflies and birds through stories, crafts and outdoor excursions.

Kids in Motion Movement camp (1pm – 4pm)
Kids will get their bodies moving by jumping in sprinklers, playing hopscotch, various sports and fun gym games. Bathing suit, towel and change of clothes required. Sunscreen and bug spray recommended.

Week 2: June 19-23

MSR Space Camp (9am – 1pm)
Train to become an astronaut. Build a rocket ship. Make a planet mobile. Construct a constellation diorama.

Farm to Table (9am – 1pm)
Work in and visit a garden, visit a working farm, learn about the farm-to-table movement and eat in a farm-to-table restaurant.

Treasure Island (9am – 1pm)
ARGH, Mateys! All aboard! Raise the colors! Batten down the hatches! We’re settin’ sail to search fer Blackbeard’s lost treasure! Campers will explore pirate life through stories, dress up, and art activities. Campers will learn how to be a pirate and choose a pirate name. On the last day of camp, the pirates-in-training will go on a real treasure hunt!!! Where do YOU think the treasure could be?

Out of the Box (1pm – 4pm)
This camp offers unlimited creativity for your children. Each day campers will pull materials out of the box and use their imaginations to make a fun craft. Cardboard boxes, scraps of material, recycled items and found objects.

Week 3: June 26-30

Children Around the World (9am – 1pm)
Learn about children from around the world through crafts, music, dance and art. This will be a fun and interactive adventure around our wonderful world.

SuperHero Training camp (9am – 1pm)
Discover your super powers, choose a SuperHero name, design a SuperHero costume and logo. Campers will choose which super powers their character possesses. They will learn about valuable character traits like trustworthiness, responsibility, respect, fairness, caring, and citizenship. Each camper will receive a customized SuperHero Training Manual for future reference.

Camping camp (1pm – 4pm)
Bring all the fun of camping to school with camping camp! Identify animal tracks, go for a hike, create artwork with nature, go on a bear hunt, and much more. Sunscreen and bug spray recommended. Close-toe shoes are strongly suggested. No crocs or flip flops.

Week 4: July 10-14

The Sensational Science of the Senses (9am – 1pm)
Each day of camp will focus on one of the 5 senses. SIGHT, TOUCH, HEARING, SMELL, AND TASTE – 5 SENSES in 5 DAYS!
Observation walks, taste tests, and lots of ooey gooey fun! Campers will explore and learn through hands-on activities and science experiments.

Awesome Adventures in Art (9am – 1pm)
See what masterpieces your child can create as we learn about Van Gogh, Monet, Jackson Pollock, and many more.

Children’s House Theater camp (1pm – 4pm)
What’s better than stories? Acting out stories! Experience what theatre is all about while playing dress up, face painting, and learning how to make a play. We will perform the play on the last day of camp.

Week 5: July 17-21

Story Book Island (9am – 1pm)
What are your favorite stories? Curious George? Cat in the Hat? Rainbow Fish? Come to Storybook Island and share in the wonder of stories old and new! We will play dress up and make fun art projects related to the stories we love!

Trip Around the World (1pm – 4pm)
Learn about different continents and cultures without leaving the city. We will explore the music, food, and animals during this fun week trip.

Kids will practice drawing, painting, mosaic and collage just to name a few!

Jam Between the Pages (9am – 1pm)
This camp combines the wonderful world of literature with the art of cooking. Kids will explore some incredible books followed by a hands-on cooking lesson while getting a little lesson in grace and courtesy. Aprons and recipes provided.

Summer Fun! (1pm – 4pm)
Enjoy the last week of summer camp with some super fun summer activities! We will enjoy all the things summer has to offer with water activities, sports, music, and more. Bathing suit, towel and change of clothes required. Sunscreen and bug spray recommended.
