As part of the MSR curriculum, students as young as 18 months are introduced to music and art. Students can choose to paint or create art projects every day. They will participate in large group rhythm and music lessons as well. As they move into Extended Day, they will work on weekly art lessons that teach colors, printing, sculpture, and collage. They will also receive individual lessons on tone and composition using bells. Once students move to the elementary level, art and music are integral and integrated into regular curriculum with optional studio time available for all students, as well as individual and small group art lessons that teach appreciation and art techniques. Music at the elementary level includes individual music lessons that teaches theory, tone, rhythm, and composition using tone bars, recorders, and drums.
