SummerScape gave our students a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from leaders in the field of Forensic Anthropology and Entomology this past summer! This incredible camp was co-sponsored with the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and NC State University. An array of forensic investigative science topics were presented. Included was an overview of basic crime scene procedures, discovery and recovery of remains with an in-depth view of forensic anthropology/archaeology and entomology. Attendees took away a wealth of information and hands-on training experience by world premiere forensic specialists. Workshop breakouts will include: Crime Scene Management & Evidence Collection, Crime scene mapping and documentation, Collection of entomological evidence, Recovery of skeletonized surface and buried remains, and human osteology lab. The camp took place on our Brier Creek campus at 408 Andrews Chapel Road. The instructor was NC State Forensic Anthropologist Dr. Ann Ross. Click below to watch a super cool CSI style trailer.
