MSR Miners win first home game on new soccer field!

The Boys’ Miners Soccer team beat Cary Christian in the inaugural soccer game as part of the Miners Soccer Invitational held on Thursday, October 2nd on the brand new home field. In a pregame ribbon cutting ceremony, Head of School Nancy Errichetti thanked the Board of Trustees for their vision and the Olander and Turner families for their very generous donations, all of which allowed the new soccer field to become a reality. To the delight of the many fans who turned out to cheer on the Miners, the team ran through a banner adorned with a red ribbon to officially start the two day soccer tournament. The banner was held aloft by MSR Alumni athletes, Madison Brna, Colin Frost and William Kelly who came to lend their support to the team. The Miners scored the first goal and came from behind to win the first game on the new home field — Miners 3 and Cary Christian 2.
